Hell Let Loose is a platoon-based realistic multiplayer first-person shooting game for PC set during the Second World War. There will be both infantry and vehicles. (Once again... D-Day...).

Developed for Unreal Engine 4 by a small independent team, Hell Let Loose places heavy emphasis on teamwork and communication as players work together as limited Roles in Platoons beneath the leadership of Officers and the force Commander. Using historically accurate weapons, logistics, armor and tactics, Hell Let Loose is a game that demands teamwork and communication not only to win, but to survive.

HOW REALISTIC WILL IT BE?

We're aiming to make a game that mixes the high-intensity carnage, weapon mechanics and brutality of Red Orchestra 2 with the operational, supply and construction mechanics of Project Reality beneath the meta strategy of a game similar to Company of Heroes.

HUGE BATTLES - 100 players per game, 50 per team

THEATERS - Starts as D-DAY, they plant to implement Battle of the Bulge, Stalingrad and Guadalcanal

COORDINATE - Win through teamwork, tactics, and communication

FACTIONS -
- British Forces
- Ostheer Werhmacht Forces
- Russian Forces
- Imperial Japanese Forces

A NEW METAGAME - Capture sectors and resources to beat your enemy into submission

COMBINED ARMS - Over 20 different player-controlled vehicles and deployed weapons

EPIC THEATER OF WAR - Do battle across a 1:1 scale 2 kilometer-squared map

MORE THAN THE TWITCH - Supply, capture and building systems

EXPERIENCE HISTORY - Historically accurate arsenal with realistic weapon behavior

A MODERN ENGINE - Developed for Unreal Engine 4

A closed pre-Alpha of Hell Let Loose is expected to begin in October 2017, with a Kickstarter campaign launched prior to a Greenlight campaign.

We plan to release Hell Let Loose on Steam in early 2018.

This looks like an interesting concept, quite different too!

Looks pretty good too, slow development just like this game. I think it has a small edge with the combined arms and strategic aspects however thats just me and what I look for. Keep in mind HLL will have a price tag and this one is gonna be free, that's a big factor.

If you guys subscribe to HLL on their website, there was a newsletter today with a few information regarding the game:

1. They are going to release a video soon and will also post their first map! Around the same time they will do Steam Direct.

2. Kickstarter campaign will start shortly after the video coming soon. There will be Alpha, Beta and Early Access Keys for the Kickstarter backers. There are 3 titles as of now for the backers: Veterans, Rifleman and Scout each with different stuff for the backers to obtain.

3. The game might cost USD $29.95

4. There will be an Officer, Engineer and Assault roles which are confirmed, and they will all wield Mp40s.

If you guys want to follow more of the game info: check Hell Let Loose - Page 3 - Project Reality Forums This is the PR forums, and one of the game lead devs is there answering and explaining questions people ask:

"Essentially, the entire 4km square map is divided up into 25 sectors (5x5), with the opposite corners being the base sectors for each team (in which you cannot be teamkilled, or killed by enemy, but you can shoot out). The game begins much in the same way as PR - marshalling up, deciding on transport and gear. However, instead of capping a line of separated capture points, you must progressively capture each sector on your way to the front line. It takes a single player to capture a neutral sector, so much of the opening gameplay is organising your Platoon or team to effectively capture as much territory as possible. You'll basically meet combat in the middle of the map, and depending on dispersion you'll have to deal with flanking attacks and health across your line. We feel that the map is wide enough that if both teams meet in the middle there will be space for aggression and infiltration, while small enough that you don't feel helpless if parts of your line begin to sag."

"I should also say that once you capture a sector, it cannot be recaptured for 2 minutes. This is a time signifying each force regrouping. It will allow successful attackers to regroup, as well as failed defenders to fall back - and vice versa.

It's also worth noting you cannot back-cap. You can only capture adjacent sectors. This gives a very strong sense of a frontline.
The reasoning for this is because simply driving 2 guys behind the enemy is not a reflection of how battle played out. That said, players will find that they'll be able to execute pretty brutal flanking attacks that allow them to isolate and cut off enemy sectors (and therefore cut off the resources those sectors produce)."

This is quite an original idea!

The sectors idea is really interesting, quite a break away from the traditional cap points. HLL also seems like it would be a good game for fixed-wing aircraft :D

EDIT: "Engineers will lay minefields and barbed wire to create choke points. Sunken lanes become killing zones while dense woodlands could mask the presence of a devastating PAK 43 - towed into position by a waiting unit of Wehrmacht infantry. Allied infantry call in strafing runs as hedgerows light up with the fire of a Panther tank and the scream of the Hitler's Buzz Saw - the MG42."
