Have you ever tried exporting any of your work to CE3?

You can make your images appear as thumbnails which open in a popup if you want by using
 
Thx and no i have never tryed to export models into CE3. I have to say that im only good at modelling xD and suck at everything else. xD
 
:O i was messing around with the CryE3 and i managed to add first model *quite* succesfuly into the game or whatever xDIts an pile of boxes from return to castle wolfenstein xD. Textures are anyways.

Added something more complex.

They look great CM - although I wouldn't recommend using assets from other games... always better to find stock objects with a CreativeCommons license.
 
I used textures from RTCW for testing purpose only. They are all in .tif format and nice 256x256, 512x512 size.
I'll try to learn as much as possible so maybe i can join you guys at one point. I quess it would be nice if i learnt this stuff on 3dsmax :S maybe i can finaly learn how to make animations. I can make UVW's tho i dont like it. Also i have basic/advanced photoshop skills.

3DS is the standard tool at least for CE3 so if you are interested in doing more advanced assets you should really try to get to grips with it sooner rather than later. There is a student edition if you happen to be a student.

If you do decide to take the plunge and hit upon issues I'm sure someone on the team will know the answer to something your not sure of.

PlayUp converts any textures you use to crytif. You do not need to worry about format, size or UVW. PlayUp converts everything for you.

Less polys? No problem! it's sad that i cant show to you my wonderful low-poly wwii model collection that i made. :( all because of a stupid virus that f#cked up my HDD. I had over few hundred models made for Company of Heroes mod. Luckily i managed to get some models back because i sent some of them to my friend.
3Dsmax seems to be very big headache to me because im used to sketchup which is very simple to use. Also few years ago i was UVW mapping few models (there were SdKfz 231,232,233 + wrecks in one pile) in 3dsmax and i had very bad luck. I finished the UVW mapping for these vehicles and 3dsmax crashed right before I was able to click the save button. My stupidity slapped me in the face very hard, I didnt save not even once, no auto save. 12 hours of hard work lost. Luckily im now smarter. :D
 
hmm... i think obj exporter for sketchup is broken... only problems with it. .3ds exporter works without problems tho. Besides modelling in 3dsmax is complete BS if you are pro in sketchup. I have been useing sketchup almost 6 years ( I was 13 when I started )
