Hi,

I don't know where to write that, because it's only an idea. But I think it could be great to create a new flight simulator, so I thought that I could create it, because I have a lot of idea. I have 0 experience in game development and it's only an idea for the moment and I wrote nothing yet about that.

The thing is that FSX is old (2006) and texture are the same everywhere :

Whatever, I know that some people and team are making amazing things :

But the trees are not very well made and water need to be better. Even the light are not realistic.

But the problem is that I thought about UE4 or CryEngine to make that, but how could it be possible to make the complete world and not destroy a PC or gaming laptop?
Do you think it could be better to start an engine from scratch? I don't know how to do that?

Yes, if I make a FS, I will need help...

I have to give it to you, you really come up with plentiful, but great ideas. :)

I know nothing about importing a fully playable airplane into CryENGINE (my choice of engine), but I think there is enough devs at Crydev, would help. I would be glad to help out with levels and ground textures.

However, I hate to break it to you, but War Thunder would be the same thing. That engine is really similar to CryENGINE as far as graphics goes. ;)

Hi,

thank you very much.

I just want to know if UE4 or CryEngine are capable to have a large detailled Field of View, because a Flight Sim need to be big. But I would like something where you can create something easily and that could be FPS friendly. For exemple, default house and building can be copy/paste and not have a lot of detail, but if we do detailled scenery, to have something photo-realistic, but that doesn't have cost in FPS or that will not destroy or crash your PC.
I don't know if UE4 or CryEngine have a limitation in term of Map size, because if I want to create the entire planet (but things are loading under the "field of view" so it will not load everything in the planet. Hope you understand). My idea is to create a flat planet like on paper map and after that, take the map and transform it into a big sphere (with same size as Earth).

For a home-made engine, it's look very difficult lol.

But it's just an idea. I have a lot of games ideas in head and maybe some of them will never happen, but I really think we need a new FS.

Maybe it could be better to use the new Unity 5?
