Since noone every replies to Steam discussions, I decided to ask for help here.

Yesterday I got this message from Steam:

I have read that I shouldn't be worried because this happens when people use same key you used.
Also 1 of my Steam friends got suddenly deleted while we were both offline.
Never gave my email account to anyone or something. Please help

This is an automated message generated by Steam account administration. It is being sent in response to a query made by a Steam user to discover all account names associated with this CD-key.

Steam account name: *my username*

If you requested this query, please use the above account name to log in to Steam. If you cannot remember your password, click on the “Retrieve lost account” button on the Steam login screen.

If you did not request this query, please ignore this message – users cannot gain access to your account via the Find Account By CD Key process without access to your email account.

I haven't really had any Steam issues, except that a few days ago Steam Guard prevented someone from getting into my account. Sorry I can't be of any help :(

This might be true, since I redeemed few keys in past couple of days: (but if someone has better solution please say it)

"Most likely you activated a key from a giveaway or one that was posted in public, and someone requested that info by clicking the retrieve account button.

although it used to say query account by email."

The most likely way is that at sometime in the past you have redeemed a key which was posted on Twitter or similar as part of a promotion and now someone has tried using the same key.

Check your Steam Guard to make sure it is turned on and if you're worried change your account password.

Someone is probably trying to scare me off since I used key 3 days ago. My Steam guard is on and I won't really change my pass since someone can't get into my Steam without knowing my email.
