Will flamethrowers/flammenwerfers ever be looked into?
I think the only game so far that did it right was Rising Storm, I may be wrong though ;).

Frankly I feel that flamethrowers are not really as important as other weapons, and I don't really wanna see them added in TW.
They were a great addition for Rising Storm (and for the Pacific Theatre in general), but I don't want them to be part of TW's gameplay mechanics.

Flamethrowers just weren't really used much at all in the ETO except by specialist units in specialist duties. The one flamethrower you will probably see ingame, but not for awhile, would be the British Crocodile, a Churchill fitted with a flamethrower in the hull position. It was basically the only flamethrower to see much action in theater.

M1 Flamethrower were used when the US stormed the beaches of Normandy.

That would be the british lifebouy shaped flamethrower.

And yeah, we're not doing Americans yet. And even then, those flamethrowers would only be used on a beach map.

And no you won't magically blow up if the flamethrower guy is hit. The reason it has two tanks is because both liquids must mix in order to light on fire. Putting a bullet hole through them will just cause them to leak out. The reason being a flamethrower man sucked wasn't that you burst into flames, it was that it was like painting a giant target on your chest - everyone wanted to kill you first - and your job involved getting as close as possible and then exposing your entire body.
