News Update #6
Guns & Grenades

Hello and welcome to another update of Traction Wars. This month we have a small update with some weapon renders of the M1A1 Thompson & No.77 Smoke Grenade by the latest developer to join the team Edad Tace. Welcome aboard Edad Tace.

The M1A1 Thompson Sub-Machinegun was know by many names during it's time including; "The Tommy Gun", "The Trench Sweeper" & "The Chicago Piano". Inspired by the fighting of the First World War, the Thompson was one of the first weapons to pioneer the idea of a one-man machinegun. Used widely by both the Police & US Armed Forces in the inter-war period, it was exported to Britain as part of the lease-lend agreement. The M1A1 version seen below, could be produced twice as fast as the M1928A1 which was the most common variant to be exported at the beginning of the war.

The No.77 Grenade was a British white phosphorus grenade introduced in 1943. Designed to lay down smokescreens and for signalling, the grenade was also very effective as an anti-personnel and incendiary weapon due to the fact that once the grenade exploded, the white phosphorous would scatter and ignite as soon as it touched the air.

The team is looking for new developers to join, so if you think you have a skill we could use ,please fill out a recruitment form here, we are especially looking for Modellers, Texture Artists, Animators & Scripters for importing assets into CryEngine2 but we are recruiting in all areas.

That's all for this update, see you again next time. Until then be sure to check out our community forums and comment on news, post ideas & suggestions, and become part of our quickly developing community.

Great job! I can't think of a single Second World War shooter that has smoke grenades, so I am looking forward to the No. 77. Keep up the good work, can't wait until release!

Forgotten Hope 2 certainly does. I've used them many times to cover a mad dash across an open field into an enemy objective ;)

And oddly enough, FH2 is the one that I haven't bought yet. I was going to, but I figured I'll stick with Traction Wars when it's released.

Really? I learned about it from a friend who said he bought it . . . oh, well. Also, one thing; unlike the 24, the head on the Stielhandgranate 43 could be unscrewed from the stick and used as a booby trap, triggered by a tripwire. I imagine you'll just stick with AP mines for such purposes, but I'd be curious to know if you've considered it.
