• Welcome to the Vanguard Community

These forums date back to the game's origins as the Crysis mod Traction Wars. Over the years the game and internet habits have evolved and discord.gg/vanguardww2 is now the principle home of the community.

The team continue to read and reply to posts here, but we can be contacted more quickly on Discord.

What compass directions to use?

I was talking with FlyingR about this a couple of weeks ago. If you don't have a cohesive team, it is very difficult to use the clock system in a game. I think the most important factor is that you don't have a real human contact.
-Your vision is limitated
-The hearing can't be simulated
-You can't relate voices with faces
-You can't do bodily expressions
etc etc

Even if you can overcome this with training, this would be very difficult to casual players, or players that are not playing with friends. I mean, is it impossible? No, but it could convert a realism game in a complex combat simulator

Do you mean the clock system as an actual in-game system? I was referencing it as not something in-game, but just something you use, referring to twelve o'clock, or three o'clock, or whatever.

yes of course. I'm just talking about what @sHaKeNbAkE said. I think it is unfeasible, and we should dismiss the idea, just that. (i'm talking to implement something like real, of course)
