• Welcome to the Vanguard Community

These forums date back to the game's origins as the Crysis mod Traction Wars. Over the years the game and internet habits have evolved and discord.gg/vanguardww2 is now the principle home of the community.

The team continue to read and reply to posts here, but we can be contacted more quickly on Discord.

True.

Sounds good. Would it be possible to put out a test build, you know, so we can get a feel of what its like? You guys are killing us here. :D

oh and another question: How would we go about starting the game? Will we have to install the Cryengine 3 first or is gonna be a standalone or what?

We're looking at some different ways actually, and I for one would love a .torrent-file places on our server as well, since my internet-line is quite unstable; would really hate to re-download everything because my ISP wanted to shut me down a bit, haha!

And what Apple said!

Yeah, via torrent would be much more stable, I have (and Im guessing alot of others) have this problem as well.

Have you guys thought about using an auto updater?

Yes, titsmcgee, an auto-updater is something we're looking into as it would make it easier for us to ensure that everyone would be on the latest release. There's a few technical aspects of it that's yet to be ironed out but we're confident about it!

As Maniche says it's been considered. It does have the major benefit that we can offer far more regular updates to the game so minor issues can be fixed quickly without having to wait for a major patch which would get annoying to keep having to download and apply manually.

I was wondering if any of you guys had a list of the important features you have added or will add in the final product? I have to say i'm too god damn lazy to do it myself so, If anyone's interested...

I can. I'm also not too itchy to play a pre-alpha version of the game, I don't want the big surprise to be ruined. X|

Let the dev team do their work, what they are doing now seems to be just great. I'd rather them focus on the game then spending time making us demos, videos and other stuff. Even then, I am thankful for the dev updates because it's nice to at least have an idea about what's going on.

Hey guys, first all, like most everyone, great job everything you showed us until now looks really great.

I'm just wondering something however, as everyone knows assets and models are only one part of a game, when I look at the team list I only see two coders. Being myself a software guy in my day job I realize the amount of work behind such a game as Traction Wars is big and I was wondering how would you say the actual game play code/scripting is going? Are you hindered by having only two coders or are they coding monsters and can handle everything themselves? :)

Keep the great work!

Like everyone I really love everything that was shown to us till now. :)

However I have a little question, I noticed on your team info that there is only two coders. Being myself a software guy in my day job, I fully realize the amount of work behind a game such as Traction Wars.

I was wondering if the game coding was advancing as you guys wanted it because your guys are coding machines or if you feel you are missing a few programmers?

We are always looking to recruit fresh talent onto the team including programmers. We're making good progress but as is the case with most things it wouldn't hurt to have more :)
