The building of the German headquarters (before and after the occupation - the House of the Red Army) in occupied Vinnitsa. Now it is a concert hall in Victory Square house number 1.

4th June 1944, two days before D-Day. Lieutenant Albert David leads a nine-man boarding party aboard U-505, which surfaced after attacks by depth charges and Hedgehogs and fire from two F4F Wildcats of US Task Group 22.3, off the coast of Morocco. The boarding party successfully closed the sea-strainers and defused the explosives set by the German crew to scuttle the U-boat, and it was towed to Bermuda for study.
